Catalyst acquired a 49 percent stake in Moraitis alongside the Moraitis family in May 2006. The business is one of Australia’s largest distributors of fresh produce to the retail sector. The business comprises vertically integrated operations that span the fresh produce supply chain and operate in every market in Australia. This includes operations in farming/ growing, packing, packaging, processing marketing and logistics. Moraitis retains outstanding relationships with its growers, suppliers, and customers.
The focus of Moraitis over the last ten years has been on product diversification, innovation, vertical integration and providing superior service solutions. The business initially targeted high volume lines, which make up the core categories demanded by consumers, and now distributes over fifteen different fruit and vegetable product categories.
